Accessibility Policy | How We Heal CIC
At How We Heal CIC, we are committed to making our services and website accessible to all survivors, organisations, and members of the community. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed spaces where women and survivors of abuse can find support for trauma recovery and wellbeing in the East Midlands, regardless of ability, background, or circumstance.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
We aim to ensure that our website, online resources, and in-person programmes are accessible to everyone by:
-
Designing our website to be clear, easy to navigate, and compatible with assistive technologies.
-
Using plain, inclusive, and compassionate language that is understandable to a wide audience.
-
Providing alt text descriptions for all images, so that users of screen readers can access our content fully.
-
Offering content with clear headings and structure (H1, H2, H3) for better readability and navigation.
-
Ensuring colour contrast and font choices are accessible for users with visual impairments.
-
Offering accessible formats of materials (on request), such as large print or digital alternatives.
-
Making sure our wellbeing programmes are held in venues that are physically accessible wherever possible.
Accessibility in Our Programmes
Our trauma-informed yoga and wellbeing programmes are designed with inclusivity in mind. We take care to:
-
Adapt sessions to meet different physical needs and abilities.
-
Provide a choice of one-to-one or small group settings.
-
Create safe, women-only spaces where survivors of abuse can participate without fear or judgement.
-
Welcome feedback so we can continually improve accessibility for all participants.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We regularly review our services, website, and communication to identify barriers and remove them. If you experience any difficulty accessing our services or website, please let us know so we can work to put it right.
