SOLACE:
A Trauma-Informed Yoga & Wellness Programme for Survivors of Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence

Why Choose a Trauma-Informed Yoga Programme?

For many survivors, traditional talk therapy can feel overwhelming or intimidating, Trauma-informed yoga provides an alternative pathway to healing by working with the body and the nervous system.

SOLACE offers survivors the opportunity to:

  • Reconnect with their body after trauma

  • Build resilience and self-confidence

  • Learn practical self-regulation skills

  • Find calm, stability, and empowerment in a safe environment

By integrating yoga, somatic practices, and resilience-based tools, survivors can begin to reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and overwhelm while building long-term coping strategies.

Programme Overview

A Structured-Programme

Solace is a 12 week structured programme designed specifically with the needs of female survivors of abuse and violence in mind. Each session introduces gentle, accessible practices that help participants:

  • Rebuild trust in themselves and others

  • Strengthen relationships and connection to community

  • Develop a greater sense of safety and agency in their body

  • Cultivate positive coping strategies for managing painful experiences

These tools are designed for use both on and off the yoga mat, making them a valuable part of everyday recovery.

Evidence-Based Benefits

Trauma has a profound impact on the body’s physiology. By resetting the nervous system and introducing embodied practices, SOLACE can support:

  • Better sleep and relaxation

  • Improved ability to self-regulate

  • Reduced stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms

  • Lower blood pressure and improved heart rate regulation

  • Relief from physical pain and tension

  • Greater resilience and self-compassion

  • Increased confidence, empowerment, and agency

Who Can Access SOLACE?

  • Survivors: If you are a survivor of domestic abuse or sexual violence, you can join SOLACE through small private group sessions or 1:1 support. Please contact us to register your interest.

  • Organisations: SOLACE was established by our founder, Donna Navarro, in 2022. It has been commissioned in the VAWG sector since that time. If your organisation would like to host or commission the programme, we’d be happy to arrange a conversation.

“For the first time since I was a child, I feel able to relax with my eyes closed. The voices within feel calmer and softer, and I feel safer in my body. This programme has been a life-changing, wonderful experience.”
