Empowering Women to Reclaim Safety, Trust & Resilience
Trauma-informed Wellbeing for Women Survivors in the East Midlands
At How We Heal CIC, we deliver specialist trauma-informed wellbeing programmes for women survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. Based in the East Midlands, our services combine trauma-informed yoga, somatic practices, and resilience-building tools to support recovery, empowerment and long term wellbeing after domestic abuse.
Trusted within the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector, our programmes provide evidence-based body-based approaches that complement advocacy, counselling, and safeguarding services.

Why This Service Matters for Women Survivors
Body-based Pathways to Healing
Trauma affects the whole body, not just the mind. While talking therapy is important, many women benefit from additional body-based pathways to healing. Our programmes help women survivors to:
-
Regulate the nervous system and reduce symptoms of trauma
-
Reconnect safely with their bodies after abuse
-
Build resilience, self-trust, and confidence
-
Develop coping strategies for daily life
-
Complement existing therapeutic or safeguarding support
Women-Only Small Group Programmes
Women-only spaces for healing and recovery
We deliver single-sex, small group sessions for women survivors of abuse. These women-only spaces are safe, confidential, and supportive helping women to:
-
Share healing in community with other women
-
Explore trauma-informed yoga and somatic practices in a titrated manner
-
Rebuild stability, trust and empowerment in their bodies and lives
